We know the City’s website can be cumbersome. So, to help bridge resources with Piedmont’s community needs, we’ve shortcut the following City links, staff’s contacts, and regional opportunities to get you going:
- Peninsula Park Community Center – Located at 700 N Rosa Parks Way, Portland, OR 97217. PPCC is open Monday-Saturday. Visit the website for rental, programming, and swimming pool access details.
- Friends of Trees – FOT works with City departments to support increasing the urban canopy. Their programs include tree giveaways, education, and community volunteering. Visit their website for more.
- Permitting & Development – Starting point when seeking a residential or commercial building permit, such as upgrading an electrical panel, adding additional facilities, and more. You can also connect with City Staff at 503-823-7300 or through their online form HERE to ask questions.
- Original Art Mural Permit – Want to paint a mural on your place of business? Once you’ve confirmed your artist, be sure to submit your permit application before starting (otherwise the City may considering it graffiti). Reach out to Kristin Cooper (kristin.cooper@portlandoregon.gov) or Brando Green (Brando.Green@portlandoregon.gov) in PPD Department for any questions.
- Graffiti Program & Reporting – Help keep Portland beautiful by reporting unwanted vandalism through the City’s system. They also offer information on how to prevent tagging through environmental design. Connect with the Graffiti Program Coordinator at graffiti@portlandoregon.gov.
- City Outreach Team Resources for folks experiencing homelessness – Find resources including alternative shelters, overnight emergency shelters, day centers, and impact reduction services. Folks experiencing homelessness can also call 311 for updates and support options.
- Illegal Camping (on City Properties) – We recognize that each circumstance is unique, and the City is working diligently to respond. See this page to learn about and/or report unsanctioned camping. There is an online form to intake all the details before City Staff can review/respond. The best way to follow-up after a site is reported, is to call 311. Please allow 1-week before reporting the site again.
- Report Camping or Road Hazard (on ODOT Properties) – ODOT will reply in a timely manner to address any reports.
- Northeast Coalition of Neighborhoods (NECN) – For overarching District 2 happenings and project reporting by the 29 North/Northeast Neighborhood Districts.
- Project, Infrastructure, and Business Grants provided by local agencies: Note, funders may require applicants to be an independent 501c3, Nonprofit Organization. Review the guidelines or contact the grant manager directly for funding eligibility.
- City of Portland: Bureau of Environmental Services (BES) Trees in the Curb Zone Pilot Project – Under PBOT “Percent for Green” to add “bump-out trees for expanding the canopy, not impede pedestrian right-of-way.
- City of Portland: Bureau of Environmental Services (BES) Community Watershed Stewardship Program (CWSP) Grant – For projects that benefit watershed health and the community. This is a reimbursement grant.
- City of Portland: Bureau of Environmental Services (BES) Percent for Green Grant – Funds large-scale green infrastructure projects that provide broad benefits for watershed health and the community.
- East Multnomah Soil & Water Conservation District, SPACE Grant – Ground-based agriculture, restoration, pollution prevention, engage youth or seniors, improve conservation.
- Prosper Portland Community Livability Grant (CLG) – Funding to 1) Honor and enhance the neighborhood’s cultural diversity and history, and/or 2) Deliver a community asset tailored to the community’s expressed priorities and opportunities.
- City of Portland: Clean Energy Community Benefits Fund (PCEF), two Community Grant categories – PCEF’s Community Grant program supports planning and implementation projects that reduce emissions and improve climate resiliency in ways that advance economic, social, and climate justice for our under-resourced communities.
- City of Portland: Clean Energy Community Benefits Fund (PCEF) Mini Grant – Funds for addressing climate action while advancing social justice.
- Regional Arts & Culture Council (RACC) Portland Arts Project Grants – Small art projects, installations, exhibitions or happenings.
- Multnomah Cultural Coalition (MCC) Community Cultural Participation (CCP) Grant – Project Funding.
- Oregon Cultural Trust (OCT) – Various funding opportunities. See corresponding Guidelines when ready/seeking support.
- Oregon Arts Commission (OAC) Arts Build Community (ABC) – Matching support to arts and other community-based organizations for projects that address a local community problem, issue or need through an arts-based solution.
