Peninsula Rose Garden Weeding Party – April 15th

Foliar damage caused by herbicide overspray.

Foliar damage caused by herbicide overspray.

Monday, April 15, 8am – 12pm

We have scheduled a work party on Monday to weed the slopes at the Peninsula Park Rose Garden. We are hoping to cut down on the use of herbicides in the garden this year, so your help getting on top of the weeds early in the season would be greatly appreciated.
Join us if you can for an hour or two or all morning. Bring a friend;  the more of us doing this work, the quicker it will be done. Also please bring your favorite weeding tool as our weeding tools are a bit limited at the garden.

If you can, let me know if you can make it so we can plan accordingly. My e-mail is penrosegarden@gmail.com.

Thanks ever so much and hope to see many of you on Monday.

Piedmont – Woodlawn Friends of Trees Planting

Hello Neighbors!

Piedmont and Woodlawn had their annual tree planting on February 2nd. It was a huge success! They planted 187 trees, 101 in Piedmont and 86 in Woodlawn. 168 volunteers did the work, 38 of those were Friends of Trees tree team captains and trainees, so 130 people from our neighborhoods came out that day to plant!

If you happen to visit Dave’s Killer Bread, New Seasons, Breakside Brewery, AJ Java, or Starbucks please give them a huge thank you for their donation to the party!
