Happy Winter, Piedmont Neighborhood Association Members and Friends!
Be prepared, not scared!
At this Thursday’s General Meeting, Portland NET (Neighbor Emergency Team) will give a 75-minute presentation about simple emergency preparedness in the event of a disaster for yourself, your family, and your neighborhood.
A NET volunteer will present simple, inexpensive ways to prepare for emergencies ranging from severe weather to a major earthquake. We’ll learn practical information like how to: make plans for home, work, and school; create go/stay kits; store water and food; retrofit homes seismically; consider multifamily buildings; create emergency sanitation and more.
You’ll also learn about optional volunteer opportunities to serve your neighbors during an emergency by receiving additional training from PBEM (Portland Bureau of Emergency Management) and Portland Fire & Rescue, including the NET and BEECN (Basic Earthquake Emergency Communication Node) programs.
Our meeting will begin with brief updates about ongoing projects, like Saving Rosemont Court, Rosa Parks sign-caps, our upcoming new email system and more.
Here is the meeting’s Agenda that includes the Zoom link. A recording of the Zoom session will be available on our website.
We hope you will join us in person or online via Zoom!
