Hello Piedmont Neighborhood Association Members and Friends!
Due to the ongoing stalemate in Washington, D.C., many of our neighbors are feeling an immediate and dramatic increase in food insecurity. To help meet this need, Peninsula Park Community Center is partnering with Urban Gleaners to launch a weekly Free Food Market—but they can’t do it without community support from neighbors like you!
Here are the Proposed Market Details. With the public’s help, hopefully it will open soon.
- When: Mondays, 3:00–5:00 PM
- Where: PPCC Basketball Gym
- Food Delivery: 2:00–2:30 PM
Why Volunteers Are Needed: PPCC cannot fund staff hours for this program, so volunteers are essential to making the market possible. This is a direct and meaningful way to support our local families. If you’re able to lend a hand—even occasionally—your time will make a real difference!
