Hello Piedmont Neighborhood Association Members and Friends!
Got any junk you’ve been wanting to recycle or to just heave ho? Check out the upcoming Community Waste Collection Day on Sat., Sept. 27 at Arbor Lodge Park from 10a-3p. This is a collaboration between four Neighborhood Associations: Piedmont, Arbor Lodge, Kenton and Overlook, and is made possible by generous donations from our sponsors.
All you have to do is drive your vehicle (loaded with items you’d like to recycle, repurpose or perhaps throw out) to the Collection Check-In Location on N Saratoga St just before N Delaware Ave at Arbor Lodge Park where for just a $10 donation, a crew of volunteers will assist in placing your items in their appropriate bins. Items that can’t be recycled will be tossed into a garbage dumpster. Please: no construction materials.
Here is what CAN be recycled or repurposed:
- Metal
- Electronics (including microwaves)
- Styrofoam (PS #6, no peanuts or film)
- Clear #1 plastic clam shells
- Clear plastic bags (bread bags, zip lock bags)
- Household items and Furniture, including clean mattresses (see the Community Warehouse website for what they take and the condition the items must be in)
- Household junk that can’t be fixed or recycled will be tossed as garbage
What NOT to bring:
- Construction/Remodeling waste materials
- Painted items
- Yard debris, dirt
- Commercial or hazardous waste
- Batteries
- Styrofoam peanuts or film
Interested in helping out to make this day a success while meeting neighbors and having some fun? Consider volunteering! The Piedmont Neighborhood must provide 10 volunteers. There are numerous volunteer roles, so click here to see those roles and then register to Volunteer. Thank you!
Any Questions? See Don Robinson, chair@piedmontneighborhood.com
Happy Recycling! We hope to see you on Sept. 27th!
