Hello Piedmont Neighborhood Association!
As part of our commitment to transparency and community involvement, the Piedmont Neighborhood Association Bylaws Committee is in the process of updating our Bylaws—and since the PNA Membership must vote to approve any changes, we encourage you to review these changes and provide input when we discuss the changes at the May 15 General Meeting. The plan is then to vote on the changes at our June 17 General Meeting.
As you will see, the proposed changes clarify vital governance, such as when Board Members’ terms begin and how to vote during hybrid meetings when some Members attend via Zoom. Additional changes reflect our evolving values and support more inclusive participation. Lastly, many changes are clerical such as consistently using capital letters and abbreviations. You can read the draft bylaws here:
Please review the changes. We’re especially interested in hearing if anything feels unclear, if you notice any gaps, or if you have suggestions to make the document more accessible and equitable. As mentioned, we will have an open discussion at our May 15th General Meeting, or you can add your comments on this form. We provide you with two different options: a short form (1 question) and a long form (~20 questions).
Our next PNA General Meeting is Thursday, May 15 at our usual location/time (and via Zoom) in the Fireside Room at PPCC, 700 N Rosa Parks Way from 7p-9p.
We hope you will join us in person or online at this coming Thursday’s meeting!
