Thanks to Those Who Attended this past Thursday’s City-Sponsored Listening Session!

More than 300 citizens showed up in person and scores online at a Listening Session in front of the Mayor and City Councilors to protest the City’s proposed budget cuts—especially the possibility of closing one of Portland’s three smaller Community Centers: Peninsula Park, St. Johns and Montavilla. While the Piedmont Neighborhood Association vehemently opposes closing any of the three CCs, a majority of those who testified were in opposition to closing the Peninsula Park CC.

The PNA thanks all who attended and protested in person and online. And we thank our PNA volunteers who helped distribute 1,000 Listening Session flyers door-to-door in Piedmont last Sunday.

Please continue to spread your opposition to closing the CCs and we’ll keep you posted on any additional Civic Action that may become necessary.
