PNA Members,
I am very pleased to announce that long-term rental assistance from Multnomah County for the former Rosemont Court residents has been granted! It appears that our recent, collective efforts to bring this unresolved issue into public view were successful. Since this was our primary request, the NHA and I will not be testifying at the County Commission meeting this Thursday. I want to thank all of those who offered to show up, send comments or write letters of support.
The County and City are now aware that the members and allies of the PNA are serious in their support for Rosemont Court and its former residents. Our work is not done. The City of Portland recently offered significant funds towards the $6 million renovation project, so NHA is more hopeful at raising the remainder. NHA assures us that the former residents who want to return to RC will be given first dibs. We’ve asked NHA, the County and City to keep PNA in the loop as they work to finalize details of the renovation project, the housing income mix, etc.
