Annual General Membership Meeting Notice

HAPPY FALL to the Members of the Piedmont Neighborhood Association!

During fall, we hold our Annual General Membership Meeting when we review the past year and then elect our Board of Directors. This year’s General Membership Meeting will be held at our usual location and time on the third Thursday at the Trinity Academy¹ at 7:00 pm on October 19^th.

In our meeting, the Members will vote to fill the following four (4) one-year Board of Directors positions: Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer. We encourage anyone who wants to give back to their community to consider running for a position. To help determine which role may interest you, here are the general duties of each position as spelled out in our Bylaws:

• Chair:
  Prepares an agenda, facilitates Board and General Membership meetings, and serves as the spokesperson for the Board.

• Vice Chair:
  Performs the duties of the Chair in their absence and assists the Chair, as requested.

• Secretary:
  Records the minutes and maintains all records and files and forwards duplicates of all records in a timely manner to the North Portland Neighborhood Service Office of Neighborhood Involvement.

• Treasurer:
  Receives and disburses funds, writes checks, maintains accurate fiscal records, presents a detailed monthly account of the fiscal positions, and proposes an annual operating budget to the Board in November of each year.

Any PNA Member interested in running for a Board position should contact a Board Member (by email, the form below, or verbally) and submit their name for nomination prior to or on the day of our October 19th General Membership Meeting.

You are automatically a Member of PNA if you are a resident living within the Piedmont Neighborhood boundary² and are at least 18 years old. No registration is necessary. Membership is also available to property owners and holders of a business license operating within the Piedmont Neighborhood boundary.

Renters are encouraged to run for any position.

Our Technology/Communications Committee has made good progress and hopes to deploy a hybrid meeting (via Zoom) format for our November meeting.
