On October 27th the Piedmont Neighborhood Association has its fall general meeting at the June Key Delta House, located at the corner of Albina and Ainsworth, from 7pm til 9pm.
We have invited Commander George Burke of PPD North Precinct, or one of his representatives, and Mark Wells, City Coordinator of Neighborhood Watch and Citizen Patrol efforts to join us to talk about crime in our neighborhood.
The PNA is in desperate need of neighbors who want to be involved with the PNA, and, more generally, of suggestions and initiatives that would make our neighborhood association more inclusive and more visible. Neighborhood associations are Portland’s unique attempt to have at least some local control and direct democracy. If you want them to work, and not to hand over the city wholesale to politicos and developers, then please become involved.
Involvement can take many forms, and the easiest is to come to a meeting! This meeting (facebook event link: https://www.facebook.com/events/208117992938743/) is also the one time per year when we elect new board members – folks who want to dedicate a few hours a month towards making the neighborhood community stronger.
Please come out and join us!
